River adventure on Europe´s second longest river Danube. 2000km downstream on Kajak and Bike from my hometown Vienna to the Black Sea.
Any adventure begins on a doorstep.
The Danube - four million years ago this river started to pave his way. Nowadays second largest river of Europe not only shaped landscapes within various climate zones but also different cultures on that continent.
More than 2800km the Danube flows from Schwarzwald in southern Germany to the Black Sea, passing by four european capitals and crosses several national parks, including the worlds biggest reed area at the Danube Delta. At its widest section it measures 1,5 km and at its narrowest section at the iron gate only 150 m. As in large part the river forms the boarder of different countries, this shows the historical importance of the stream.
This adventure literally began on a doorstep - from the hometown of Vienna the Danube guided to gorgeous landscapes, shows prospering life along the river and finally spits one out to the Black Sea.
